PM Skincare routine

I’ve already shared my AM base routine with you all, now it’s time for the PM routine!

I metioned in my AM post that when you first start asian beauty recommend that you start with a base skin care routine consisting of:

Cleanser (You might need 2 to do a ‘double cleanse’)

So I have stuck with that to demonstrate a routine. My AM and PM routine’s differ slightly. Next up, my PM routine

My PM routine kicks off with the Innisfree Juicy Apple oil cleanser, which is the bomb at removing makeup!

This cleanser smells gloriously of apple and is gentle around my eyes, making it great for removing makeup and it seems to get even my most stubborn makeup off.  A couple of pumps of it is applied to a dry face, then massaged in with damp fingers.

Untitled-3Next up is the  Cosrx Low Ph Good Morning Gel Cleanser.

This a really low pH cleanser (low pH is acidic) and so might not be suitable fo everyone but is probably the most effective cleanser I have ever used. If I were planning to introduce strong exfoliants though I might consider changing. People all have different preferences on how to apply but I squeeze some onto my fingertips and spread gently onto my face without pulling the skin (there is a vlog at the bottom of the page if you want to see how the application works.

Once I have applied the cleanser all over, I gently rinse off with lukewarm water. Once my face is not dripping wet (although still slightly damp) I apply my MIZON Black Snail All In One Cream.

I apply this again with my fingertips and this time, I pat the moisturiser in. The ‘Patting in’ technique is preferred by many ABers as it doesn’t pull the skin. This cream is ridiculously hydrating but doesn’t stay with an oily feeling on my skin. It also seems to have been quite effective at reducing the pigmentation in my face already. I fully anticipate having to add an essence or serum to finish the pigmentation reduction but it’s amazing that part of my basic routine has dented it.

That’s technically it for the PM routine, although I often finish with a sheet mask before bed! I like to think my routine is fairly simple and hopefully sheds some of the intimidation that delving into asian skin care can bring!

I actually have only been doing this routine a couple of weeks but here is a before:

and after:

I hope that you can see more than just the fact I don’t photograph well in these and see the improvement in my skin, It’s a small difference but noticeable even this quickly!
